Sig P232 .380 Stainless NIGHT SIGHTS
[232380SSS]
$627.00
by Curtis T Date Added: Thursday 28 January, 2010
Since getting into hand guns (1st one in November of 2008) I have exchanged one hobby for another, namely guitars for guns. Love it but also after obtaining a CHL, I wanted something for summer carry in hot weather. Went through about 40 firearms, trading off maybe 20 of them during the learning curve (guns are cheap compared to guitars and thank goodness for ebay, since guitars financed the bulk of those guns!)

Had several LCP's (hated them- too small, trigger pull way too long, sights un usable etc.), 4 P238's (2 were early recall guns that just had problems- check the angle of your follower on those mags BTW- the forward lip should NEVER protrude above the mag shoulder- bend it down with large needle nose if need be), and settled on a "pretty bling version in rainbow, as a safe queen- I like the romance of 1911's! 3 of the 4 P238's are gone since I simply couldn't trust them for conceal carry.

Then came this one. Exquisite, reliable and concealable. Minimal study to disassemble and thoroughly clean, and incredibly accurate. Dixie cup groups all day long at 7 yds and at 15 yds EVERY bullet out of a 100 within an 8 inch Birchwood Casey splatter circle target!

Bought some ultra cheap MFS Hungarian 380, and the eastern block primers that also illustrated the benefit of this design- namely second strike capability in the event the primer is concrete hard. Originally annoyed since I bought 1000 rounds, but now kind of like the surprise of the roughly 10% of those Hungarian rounds to need a second strike. Ends up being a good training exercise in randomly going from a string of single action firing to a surprise DA trigger- Even then in rapid firing, the group integrity stayed with the boundaries mentioned earlier. Also note Buffalo Bore, Remmington, American Eagle, Winchester, Magtech, Corbon, Aguila, Fiocchi, both FMJ AND JHP all cycle 100% without ANY 2nd strike issues in over 1000 rounds. Only my lot code of MFS experiences this. Take that for what it is- to my mind it's the MFS ammo.

Although a tough pocket proposition in jeans, in vertical slant pocket slacks, this hides well with a High Noon pocket grabber holster. I really trust this gun plus it has similar manual of arms to what is my all time favorite(s), my P226's!
