Item was shipped fast and was as advertised. The firearm has been reliable and a blast to shoot.

I’ve had some issues with it extracting 22TCM cartridges. The case expands slightly and has a tendency to stick in the chamber and slip off of the extractor. I haven’t had any issues with the 9mm barrel.

I bought mine, the full sized standard model this spring. I am thrilled with the 22TCM. So much so I have not even put the 9mm barrel on it. The 22TCM is very reliable and powerful. Muzzle speed clocks in at about 2000 fps. Drop is somewhere less than 1" at around 50 yards through the 5" barrel. Recoil is essentially nil. Compared to the 5.7 I'd have to say this is definitely on par and some shooting comparisons on youtube find it edging out the 5.7. Even for those purists or opinion differences between the function of the two, this is much less expensive to purchase and fire...plus you have the alternate 9mm option. I have had no failures and suspect those with failures have used the 38 Super Para 18 mags without doing the required modification which can allow some misfeeds. If you purchase the 38 super mag and compare it to the OEM RIA mag you can see the beveling done to modify it for reliability. My only complaint, if there were to be one....would actually be 2.... first is that it is heavy and rather a pain to carry and conceal but it is the full sized 1911 with a 5" barrel and is all steel so weight and size are what those equate out to. The second is though ammo is plentiful..., I just wish some other manufacturers would wade out into the water and make ammo so potential supply shortages would be minimized and maybe produce some competition in pricing.

Nice in 9 mm unreliable in 22TCM 50 rounds and lots of FTF. Too bad would have been a nice alternative to the 5.7.

This pistol is the most fun gun to shoot with the flame throwing TCM bullet. The recoil isn't there and the slide is a breeze to rack. This is the gun for people who have a hard time racking the slide on a semi-auto pistol. It shoots wonderful in 9mm also. What a perfect pistol!

amazing hand gun. The power of TCM22 was very surprising. At 30 ft. it was center mass with plenty of power. Recoil was very manageable.
A very wicked fire arm. Good price Too.

I am a first time purchaser and I was very pleased with how this process went. I would recommend BUDSGUNSHOP to my friends and family.

The RIA 1911 A2 appears very bulky in comparison to a standard 1911, however the actual size difference is 0.1 inches due to the slimmer grips.
The magazine capacity of 17 rounds for either 22tcm or 9mm is a good trade off for the extra girth.
Minor modification to some hard polymer posters may be required
to accommodate for the extra width, this can be done easily with a half round file or a Dremel within a few minutes.
Don’t be surprised if you get other gun users asking what you are shooting especially if you are at an in door range.
The report is stunningly loud and the fireball will light up the range, however the recoil is close to that of a .22magnum.

I FEEL THE ROCK ISLAND TCM 22/9MM IS A DECENT BUY......HOWEVER WITHOUT A DAY-GLO FRONT SIGHT I WASN'T TOO PLEASED.
IVE ONLY SHOT THE TCM 22 BBL AND IT WAS OK...JUST OK. THE SELLING POINT WAS THE 2 BBLS .

Fit and finish is very good. It does feel a bit fatter in the hand then a single stack 1911 but stillfeels good in my average sized hands. Due to the weight, the recoil in 22 tcm and 9mm is very light. The pistol is great. the 22tcm9r ammo is another poor story

Super awesome especially given its low cost. Ammo is tricky to find and costly but the gun is really accurate and loud as hell, it definitely gets attention at the range

Great looking gun but 22 Tcm rounds jam on every shot. So frustrating. I’ll shoot more to try to break it in, but it’s looking like it’ll just become a 9mm 1911.

This pistol is well made and finished nicely. Fits my hand like a Browning Hi Power. Had several FTE's with the 9MM set up. No Failures with the 22 TCM(very low recoil with a great fire ball) I'm hoping the 9MM set up will "break in" with use. Over all I'm happy with it. This is my 2nd RIA pistol and the 5th 1911 style pistol added to my collection. Over all I am pleased with the RIA.

I would have to say avoid this firearm at all cost, this is the first gun I bought that I hated. The 22TCM round is very fun. Low recoil, good accuracy and a big fireball. This round is proprietary which means only one company can make the round, Armscor. I had many failures of all types with the ammo when used. I had the primers of the ammo blow off the casing after being fired and jamming the gun. I had the casing get stuck in the barrel and had to be hammered out in order to remove. I had an insane amount of failure to feeds, but it did get better as I broke in the gun. You might say, well your not being fair to the gun your just reviewing the ammo! I would agree however because the selling point of this gun is the 22TCM round and it is proprietary I think its fair to say that the rounds should be considered when reviewing the gun. The 9mm side of the gun was just dandy. I never had a problem with it at all. It was very accurate and recoil was low. For some reason, compared to other 1911's I've shot this gun didn't feel good to shoot or to hold. It felt clunky and cheap. I might recommend just buying the 9mm Rock Island and avoid this.

This is a fine piece. Good heft and balance for my hand. Accurate, shoots well.

This RIA Standard 1911 FSHC (double stack) 22TCM/9mm is awesome. It's hard to beat the function and shoot-ability of a 1911. As for Rock Island a couple of things. The factory loads up the pistol with so much preservative it's like a fish in a plastic water bag from Walmart. As a result you should completely disassemble the pistol, or at least field strip it to clean and properly lubricate the piece before you shoot it. Preservative is not a lubricant. On that same note, it doesn't take too much lubricate to properly lube the 1911. Being a series 70 operation system there is no firing pin block to worry about during disassembly if you take it all the way down to removing the trigger. My only concern is the depth of rifling in the 22TCM barrel. After a though cleaning, looking into the 22TCM barrel reveled what I though was very thin rifling grooves. Now I could be wrong, but it is what I perceived to be too thin with very little depth to the grooves. I may give Armscor a call to see what they have to say. I may have to eat my words. The 22 cal barrel is pretty small to get a decent view through the barrel. My first 150 rounds were 22TCM9R ammo. Two failure to feed. The next 150 rounds were 9mm. No problems. The following 150 rounds was 22TCM ammo. Again, two FTF. New gun? Who knows. I'll tell you this though, It's a keeper. I have an Alien Gear holster and I carry it IWB even with my big gut. It's about the same weight as my Sig 229 loaded with 40S&W. As a defensive round I'm not sure which is best, the 22TCM or the 9mm. I will say the 9mm is not as loud and less fire coming out the barrel. The 22TCM is definitely an out door shooter. Especially with no hearing protection heaven forbid if it ever came to that. The 22TCM is a good fun gun with the wife at the range. She may want it for herself. Low recoil but you know you are shooting.

This pistol is well made for any price. Trigger pull is smooth and lighter than my factory Colt Series 70 or any government model I shot. I have fired 3 boxes of .22 TCM and 500 rounds of 9mm, never had any FTF or FTE. I bought 2 Mec-Gar P18 magazines and they work great with the 9mm but would only load 10 rounds of TCM in them. Overall this is a very good purchase for a full sized handgun.

My Rock Island 1911 (.22TCM/9mm) is absolutely the best hand gun to date I have that I have made. You are actually getting two for one on this deal. Very exciting to shoot in both calibers. Everything smooth and tight in cycling ammo. Not a single hang up, both calibers. Bottom line, buy one. You will be very glad you did.

The RIA 22 TCM is a blast! It functioned flawlessly. When it arrived it was drenched in cosmaline. After a thorough cleaning I took it out for a run. It was loud and a fireball came out of the barrel. Great fun. Recoil is nothing. I almost bought a used fnh 5.7 for twice the cost of the tcm. Glad I made this purchase instead

I really like my .22TCM. Took it out and fired it and 9MM was flawless and accurate at 25yds. .22 TCM had a few hiccups and I took advantage of RIA's lifelong warranty. Pistol is in RIA's gunsmith shop as I write this. I am sure it will come back working flawlessly. I have 6 other RIA 1911s including a Baby Rock, and they all eat anything I put in them. RIA and Bud's ROCK!

The gun is great quality except for the cheap plastic grips, that being said I changed the grips to Hogue for P14 which required some minor fitting with my Dremel. I don't believe that I will ever use the 9mm barrel as I have numerous 9mm already. Bud's was very fast on this order for a change. I buy allot of guns from them...generally I am pleased and will continue to be a Team Bud's member.

This was my first purchase from Buds and my first Rock Island Armory Product. Great experience all around. The pistol is solidly built, great fit and finish, clean machine work, really nice sites, very well packaged. Manufacturer included manual recommends 500 round break-in period. First trip to the range ran 50 rounds 22TCM and 50 rounds 9mm with not one single failure. 0 fail to feed, 0 fail to extract/eject, 0 fail to fire. I've had much higher costing 1911 platform pistols that took 150-300 rounds to wear in and run 100%, not a whole bunch but a few. This is a very well made pistol sold by a very customer friendly dealer.

Put the first 50 - 22TCM and 50 - 9mm through it yesterday and it ran really well, I was very pleased. No problems and the trigger pull was great. Buds delivery went as smooth as could be expected in December, ordered on a Monday and arrived at FFL on Thursday morning.
