Very nice handgun! I have not owned a Colt in many years and I am very please with this model. It is also my first short-barreled 1911. The fit and quality of the firearm are top notch. It feels great in my hand. I did not care for the wrap-around rubber grips so I replaced them with wood grips. Some people might like the rubber - but give me wood any day. The Defender functions flawlessly and is great for concealed carry. I would have preferred tritium sights - but the Novaks are the next best thing. I highly recommend this Colt Defender. It is a firearm worthy of the Colt name. (Not so with the new Lightweight Commander).
