I looked high and low for this gun for over a year with no results. Then late one night I fired up the old puter and tuned in to Bud’s my favorite internet site. I have a routine when checking out Bud’s guns. I check out the specials, close-outs then on to handguns. When the handgun page opens I scroll down to Colt and clicked. When the page opened to all the Colts pistols I couldn’t believe my eyes. Right there in front of me was the gun I had searched for the past year or more. What I saw was the sexiest, prettiest, totally awesome 1911 of all time the Colt Gold Cup Trophy in Stainless.

I haven’t always been on the 1911 band wagon but when I jumped on I wanted the best 1911 you could get. The best 1911 right out of the box is the Colt Gold Cup Trophy IMO. I’ve had two opportunities to shoot this gun since my purchase from Bud’s a month or so ago. On my very first magazine at 15 yards I punched the center out of the target with some rounds passing through the same hole. I have used several brands of ammo and after 5 boxes there have been NO miss fires OR any kind of trouble what so ever. The fit and finish on this gun is OUTSTANDING. Colt has their s*#t together when it comes to producing the 1911. This gun is like butter if you know what I mean and I would put it up against all comers. Now I’m looking for the Colt Mustang 380, the little brother to the Gold Cup, and Bud’s needs to get busy and find one for me. I have a small hole left in my gun safe just for this little puppy.
