It really is very compact and light. Perfect for carrying in a backpack or stowing in a small compartment in a pop-up or camper.
Assembly is easy and quick, and since it comes with two magazines, they can be loaded and stored in the butt with the rest of the parts.
When it came in, I completely tore it down and did the initial cleaning. It takes down very simply with no tools required. (bolt, recoil springs and spring alignment carrier)
A few passes through the barrel with a patch and rod told me it had been fired by the factory for testing, probably a magazine full.
After a light oiling, reassembly was just as simple as dis-assembly, and in about 15 minutes total time, was all back in the stock ready to go to it's test firing.
I took this to the range today and put 250 rounds through it. Federal value pack bulk, 36 grain copper plated hollowpoint.
From other reviews, I thought the hollowpoints could be a real issue, but not with this one.
I had one round fail to fire, not the guns fault, just a bad round.
The other 249 rounds went through with no issues, no errors, no mis-feeds, no jams, - a perfect feed every time, down to the last round.
For the purposes of accuracy, don't hold the barrel to stabilize it when shooting. It will not be accurate if you do. Let the barrel free float as it was designed to do.
That said, at 25 yards, this rifle will consistently shoot _1" groups. This was designed to be a short range, compact and lightweight rifle. I would take this little gem into the jungle (concrete or woods) for a survival piece without any hesitation. It will suite the task of feeding you wild small game or fending off larger two legged predators. Just for SHTF purposes, put one in the car, the truck, the boat, and in the backpack. The price is right. The gun is good to go.
