This is a great gun. The only real drawback is the barrel that comes with the gun. It has a steel insert, but the majority of the barrel is a polymer/plastic coating (laid on thick, but still plastic). Also, the barrel nut is plastic as well, and can work itself loose during firing. Now you can just adjust your grip and hold this nut while firing, its not really a big issue. But the barrel is not strong and will not hold up if you sit on it or are rough with it. It's STRICTLY a SURVIVAL barrel. It won't hold up to 1000's of rounds either. Now with all that said, don't discount this gun. It is still an amazing gun and the ONLY .22LR that can be taken down this thoroughly. The barrel is an easy and not very expensive fix as well. You can visit a few sites (one of which is called AR-7.com, be sure to leave a comment when ordering that the barrel is for a Henry US Survival Rifle) that offer a much more durable barrel. These barrels are made of solid steel, even the barrel nut is steel! The nut does NOT unscrew during firing either! It costs around $60, but it's well worth it. The barrel can also fit inside the stock just like the original barrel. I leave my original barrel in the stock and leave the steel assembled on the rifle. All in all, even with these minor drawbacks, this is a great gun. Its my very first .22LR and I have no regrets. Thanks Budsgunshop!
