UPDATE:
I contacted Derek at Bud's and he has handled the scope situation in the most professional and satisfactory manner.
Derek is a credit to Bud's Gun Shop.com.
Savage is sending me a new scope but I will put it on a rim fire weapon.
I purchased a Nikon Prostaff 3/9/50. It is shipping today and I can't wait.
