Springfield 45ACP 4" DKETH Package
[XD9161SP06]
$507.00
by Todd H Date Added: Tuesday 20 December, 2011
I bought a S&W Sigma in 9mm a year ago and love it; buy one. You cannot beat the qualify for the price. Shoot it a lot and the trigger smooths out fine. But muzzle flip on the snappy 9mm (and my small hands) made it hard to get tight groups at the range. I've shot .32, .380 and 9mm a lot and wasn't interested in larger caliber handguns. But when at the range one day, my buddy talked me into shooting his XD45. I didn't even want to because of the anticipated recoil but finally gave in. The first time I ever shot this gun, I put 9 out of 10 rounds in a 4 inch circle at 25 yards. With my Sigma I was shooting 10 or 12 inch groups at the same distance. The recoil on the XD45 was more but slow and straight back into my grip rather than fast with muzzle flip like the 9mm. I was in love (I love guns that I naturally shoot accurately). I wondered if it were just the better trigger that made the difference, so later I went to a rental range and shot the XD in 9mm, .40 and .45. Groups with the .45 were much better every time. The .40 was like the worst of both other calibers; heavy recoil AND muzzle flip. So I bought the XD45.. I still shoot the Sigma a lot just because I like it and 9mm is much cheaper ammo. But with the XD45 I feel like I can hit anything first try. Makes a better back up gun when hunting as well. And it fits small hands! I paid extra for the tan model (Dark Earth) but the all black for around $430 is an fantastic deal.
