This is my 4th AR platform rifle/carbine, my 1st Doublestar. That being said I'm not a newcomer and "price does sell." I bought this carbine due to its features at its price. The unit came in "virtually dry", so while inspecting and cleaning the bore I did a basic lube before setting a Sightron 3X9 mildot in Burris quick detach rings atop a pair of Yankee Hill mini risers. As others have stated the fit and finish of the DSC is as good if not better than most of the competition. At the range the carbine performed as well as any of my other ARs. I put well over 100 rds of various handloads though it without a single hiccup. Accuracy was what we've come to expect from the AR, dime size 5 shot groups at 100yds. were easily achieved as long as I did my part. I expect this to improve as the barrel breaks in. For the average shooter or demanding paper puncher, I don't see how you can go wrong with one of these. Time will tell as to its durability. The unit is 5.56 cal. and it does not have a chrome lined bore. The lack of chrome is not an issue with me. I roll my own ammo and will never shoot anything corrosive or neglect the bore any more than I would any other quality firearm. A very good value. I may buy another if I can get by my wife.
