100% thoroughly impressed with both Bud's Gun Shop and this pistol. I have waited 17 years to own a 1911. The wait was well worth it.
I was hesitant to purchase a 1911 manufactured overseas at first. After researching this model and reading hundreds of reviews, I decided that it would be worth the price to give it a try.
When I opened the case, I was already impressed with the way the gun was packaged. Lockable plastic case with full cut out inserts. The gun was wrapped in a plastic bag and well, very well, oiled.
I completely disassembled the gun and inspected every part. Each one identical to the 1911s I worked on in the military. The fit was well within tolerance with some play, this is exactly the way I like it.
Every part was well made and clean. I had no visible burrs or mars on any part. The only noticeable tool marks were buff marks on the top of the breech. the feed ramps were very smooth and angled for FMJ Ball.
After reassembly I added my own personnel grips. No fit necessary.
Next I went out to the range with the cheapest FMJ ammo I could find. I used the factory Novak magazine, a Springfield magazine from Bud's, and two of the cheapest 1911 magazines I could find.
The first thing I noticed was the front tenon sight pin was bent to the left slightly and the the rear dovetail sight was pushed over to the left. This is not an issue and both are very easy fixes.
I cycled 100 rounds of the FMJ through the gun, using all four magazines. I am extremely happy to report not one single hiccup. NO FTEs or FTFs, period. This gun threw lead downrange very precisely. Groups were nice and tight.
This is an excellent and very well made piece. I am still shocked at how inexpensive this is. The only complaints I have ever heard are usually from people that believe a true 1911 must have a pony on the slide. If you purchase this firearm you will be happy.
I will definitely purchase another RIA and it will definitely be from Bud's.
