First off let me say that Bud's has a customer for life. Ordered the RIA 1911 Officer pistol on a Tues. evening, my FFL Dealer called me at 11:30 Wed. morning and told me it was there. That is serviice and beyond, everyone I talked to while making this purchase was helpful and very curtious. Now about the little Compact.45., after cleaning all the packing oil off of it, I was very surprised that it had the New Dura Coat finish. It looked great, I already had a set of double diamond rosewood grips from a previous project, I slapped those on and off to the range. I have to say, I have owned and shot 1911s for over 30 years and this little RI compact shots with the best of them. No matter what type ammo I used, it performed flawlessly. I own a 70 Series Gold Cup NM, and it shot as well asit. The crispness of the trigger was perfect. I have since replace the trigger with an RIA tactical, added a S&A magwell. This will be my CC weapon as long as it lasts. If you're looking to buy a 1911, give RIA a try, if you have deep pockets or not, you won't find a better weapon. I would put mine up against any Colt, Kimber, or SA any day of the week. BTW the ACT mags work like a charm, I bought 2 extas. Someone asked why I carry a .45 for protection, I just said, because RIA doesn't make a .46. Have a nice day.
