Received a 1943 Izhevsk, bore looks smooth, no pitting in or out. Bolt assembly was spotless and action is very smooth, found some rust on the magazine assembly not visible until I took it apart, easily clean up though. The stock has several scratches which I added to re-installing the barrel bands. not sure if a colored varnish was used or the varnish is old, either way it's soft and will scratch easily. Decided to re-finish the stock and started with the upper hand guard. The varnish came right off with some light steel-wool and revealed very good looking Birch. Although all the numbers matched, I understand that these may have been "force" stamped so will check head space with a go/no-go gauge before I pull the trigger. All and all, this is a very impressive looking weapon, received all the accessories with it and as always, Buds customer service is fantastic.
