Mosin-Nagant M91/30 7.62X54R Excellent Condition
[RI660X]
$149.00
by Daniel M Date Added: Wednesday 13 February, 2013
After watching Hickok45 shoot some Mosin Nagants on youtube, I decided that I "needed" one! My thoughts were....cheap gun very cheap surplus ammo = lots of enjoyment. So, after searching local gunstores, I ran across two that I could hold in my hands, a 91/30 & a model 44. The 91/30 is longer & in my mind, the longer barrel would mean more accuracy long-range. The model 44 was a better rifle to carry around through the woods due to the shortened length, and the model 44 has a foldover bayonet VS the detachable bayonet on the 91/30.

So luckily I found a 91/30 in "excellent" condition for $139.00 w/free shipping on Bud's this weekend. I ordered it at 4am Sunday morning, it shipped out of Buds on Monday morning, and I picked it up today (Wednesday) at my local gun shop. Including the $25 local dealer transfer fee, I have in total $170 in this gun & I am EXTREMELY HAPPY! The only ones I could find locally looked like they had been dragged by a chain through gravel & had NO matching serial #s & ranged from $180-$250 tax!!

Heeding the advice of others, and Bud's disclaimer, I made sure to thoroughly check out the gun BEFORE doing the transfer at my dealer. I opened the box, removed the bubble wrap, and found a 1933 stamped HEX 91/30 that was recrowned with ALL matching serial #s (receiver, trigger/magazine, buttplate, bolt, and bayonet) with almost ZERO cosmoline on it & looked new except for a small dime sized scuff on the stock!! The guys at the gunshop were amazed & said they have never seen a Mosin Nagant with matching serial #s ever....and also never one in that good of condition. They also couldnt believe that the seller had gone to the extensive trouble of removing almost all of the cosmoline. It literally took 1/2 of a paper towel to remove the remaining cosmoline from the 91/30 (including inside the magazine, barrel, bolt, etc).

Once I got it home, I used the included firing pin tool to check the "go/no go" of the firing pin itself & it checked out fine! No adjustment needed at all. There was literally MORE cosmoline on the outside of the oiler can than the rest of the gun combined. NO sticky residue on the stock at all. Also, the bolt seamlessly opens & closes, no "slap" needed & I can open & close TIGHTLY with my thumb. Zero slop or play at all.

*** This gun was listed as the gun only w/no extras, so I wasnt even expecting a bayonet. However, it came with a perfect condition gun, bayonet, toolkit, and oiler can. The only two things missing were the sling & ammo pouch ***

5 stars! THANK YOU BUD'S!!!!
