Mosin-Nagant M91/30 7.62X54R Very Good Condition
[RI660V]
$179.00
by Gerald W. L Date Added: Saturday 08 October, 2011
I wish I could give this rifle 6 stars, it desserves it. I shot mine for the first time a few minutes ago. I spent the previous 2 weeks taking it 100% apart and thouroughly cleaned off the cosmoline and re-oiled the works. Fire starter takes the cosmoline right off so if you barbecue, you have the perfect solvent. I also refinished the furniture with Tru Oil and it came out better than the rifle left the factory.

As to the shooting, this one is a gem, east-west was dead on and I just fired a few rounds to get it zeroed in. The Mosin-Nagant is a great shooter. The action is beautifully smooth, not sloppy, smooth. For someone not especially used to a bolt action any more, this one performed flawlessly. I'm an ol' geezer and a bit shaky but I had no problems hitting a 6" bull at 75 yards. Mine was made in 1943 and I'd say the bluing was 95% with a bit missing on the barrel where the bayonet attaches. Other than that, there was a bit missing near the receiver bolt and trigger bolt. Both cleaned up and re-blued easily and are not noticeable at all.

The ammo is cheap and plentiful and reloading every 5 rounds gives you a little rest to keep on pouring rounds downrange. I can't believe I found a weapon for $100 that I am so thrilled with owning. As always, shipping was fast - mine got to the FFL within 4 days of ordering. Great job Bud's - thats why I keep going back to Kentucky for more!
