Wow! I'm very happy with this rifle to say the least. It came drenched to the core in cosmoline, as expected, but was in perfect working order after a good cleaning. I fired it shortly after with some old soviet bulk ammo (the corrosive kind), and wasn't really expecting much out of it. But it was right on! Shot a gallon of water on the first shot at about 50 meters with the sights. Since then, I've given the rifle a woodland camo finish and I am working on a scope.
My only comment on it is when I first got it, there were some chips in the stock of the weapon (it looks like whoever carried it back in the war beat the hell out of a Nazi with it). However, I think it adds some character to the rifle. All-in-all, this has been an excellent, and affordable, addition to my collection.
This was my first purchase from Buds, and I was very happy with their service. I had the rifle in my hands within days. Overall, I give Buds and the Mosin both 5 stars.
