Mosin-Nagant M91/30 7.62X54R Very Good Condition [RI660V]
by Marc L
Date Added: Sunday 19 February, 2012
I've got to admit that I am overwhelmed by the great condition of this rifle. It's a 1939 Tula and I hope I am in that good of condition when I'm 73. I would say overall the wood is 90% with only a few very minor dents and scratches. The metal is also about 90% with only a few small rub marks at the stock contact points. One of the screws and the magazine spring had some minor rust spots that were easily removed. The barrel is almost perfect with no counter bore. The bolt action is smooth and it cycles rounds perfectly. Having said all that, I haven't shot it yet...and considering it's a C&R firearm from the WWII era I probably wouldn't fault it for any inaccuracy or other minor issues. I have complete confidence that it will function as intended.
As far as shipping goes, the gun must have had an easy trip with UPS. I say that because the gun was loose in the box. The accessories were packaged nicely in a plastic bag, but the gun itself was left to flop about based on the handler. I don't think this is a Bud's issue. I imagine they receive them already boxed and turn them right back out to the customer...I hope. This was my first order and my second order from Bud's is soon to follow.
