Mosin-Nagant M91/30 7.62X54R Very Good Condition [RI660V]
by James T
Date Added: Monday 30 April, 2012
Received this Mosin Nagant rapidly. The ONLY thing I have negative to say about it is the manner in which Bud's shipped the gun to my FFL holder. (Thrown into a cardboard box with some cardboard end padding to stop shifting of the rifle in the box.) The bolt handle was sticking out of the side of the box when it arrived at my FFL holder, but there was no damage to the rifle at all.
They call it "very good" condition, but this rifle is EXCELLENT. While I couldn't exactly call it "factory new" the minor dings and nicks show some use but also that this weapon was lovingly cared for by someone. The wood stock is gorgeous, the bluing is complete except for 2 nicks around the receiver.
I stripped this baby down and de-cosmolined it with a hair dryer to not ruin the wood stock. The bolt action is in great shape and isn't loose at all. While there was quite a bit of cosmoline on the weapon, it has kept it in great condition for the last 70 years, and is well worth the effort required to remove it. I'm really tempted to buy another one of these right now.
