Ok, so this is my second mosin. My first being a 1943 izzy, this one being a 1944 Tula. Don't let them make you believe that the Tula is the better rifle!!! Today was the first day on the range with this 1944 and after the first 2 rounds, the bolt just kept getting harder to open. So i stopped, broke down the bolt, lubed it up again. Now i know people will say that the cosmoline will cause this, well, there is no more cosmoline left in this gun since in spent about 2 hrs in a parts washer, then was washed with simple green and water, then blown off with compressed air. After lubing it up and putting it back together i noticed that one part of the bolt has a izzy stamp on it while the rest is stamped with the Tula star. I'll have to file the izzy part to better mesh with the Tula bolt and polish everything since it looks like someone took a stone grinding wheel to the thing. As for the rest of the rifle, amazing wood, blueing is at about 85%, the stock is at 90%. Buds was fast with the shipping and it arrived without the bolt handle sticking out of the side of the box. Buds gets 5 starts, Century gets 3 stars.
