First time ordering from Bud's, the shipping was fast but happened on a holiday weekend so the gun was at the UPS warehouse Friday, but couldn't pick it up from the shop until Tuesday, not Bud's fault I should've just ordered the day I actually intended to instead of waiting around. Overall the gun is nice, the finish is rough like other people have stated and some of the edges on the gun are not great, but I didn't buy this gun to be a showpiece. If you do any kind of searching on how to take care of a parkerized finish you will have the finish looking nice after a good deep clean and removal of the packing oil, I use a product called "sheila shine" that creates a nice surface protectant and keeps the finish smooth but not oily shiny. The trigger is nice, a little stiff but nice, the lockup is tight and it feels solid in the hand. I would recommend getting some .38sp snapcaps and working on the trigger in your spare time. From research I found that Pachmayr Colt Detective grips fit this pistol but leave a very minimal amount of space open on the front of the grip, with that, aftermarket grips make this gun look like a whole new animal, not that I don't like the wooden grips that come with it, but I like the finger groove rubber grips much more. One thing I would like to change about the gun is the length of the hammer, it goes back quite a ways, potentially far enough on single action to catch your skin between thumb and pointer finger. This is not a gun you buy to show off, this is a gun you buy to have a reliable pistol that will shoot a good sized bullet when you need it to. Thanks to Bud's for an enjoyable first purchase. I give the gun a 5 out of 5 for because it looks good, it feels good and it's an unbeatable price.
