TG International FEG AMD-65 7.62x39 AK Variant
[FEGAMD65]
$456.00
by Dmitriy G Date Added: Monday 18 June, 2012
As some other reviewers have previously stated, this rifle can be a hit or miss. However this should NOT stop you from ordering one. Pay particular attention to the following before you accept the transfer:

1. Any Rear Gas Block sight Cants. To check for that, remove dust cover and bolt carrier, then look at to the Gas block to see if it doesn't sit flush on the trunnion. Then look down the sights. If Gas block is elevated to one side, don't accept the transfer.

2. Dust Cover. (It may be raised or improperly aligned)

3. Trigger Assembly spring. Sometimes it has crooked prongs and impedes proper trigger reset.

I have made a mistake of not checking all of the above and ended up with a defective rifle after the fact. TGI WILL NOT FIX ANY CANTED GAS BLOCKS!!!
Fortunately Bud's customer support was OUTSTANDING and they ended up exchanging the defective rifle for another one, which was inspected upon shipping it back to my FFL.

Other than that, this rifle beats any WASR's and is THE LIGHTEST AK-47 I've handled due to the fact that it was developed for Paratroopers. Because it is a Short Stroke piston action, it has a faster rate of fire than most other AK-47's except for Krinkov. Recoil is reduced by nice Muzzle brake. It is accurate too after you adjust the front sight's windage (need to have a tool for that).

This rifle is RELIABLE AND HANDLES VERY WELL. It is an excellent firearm, spare a few bad builds amongst them. Get them while you still can, because TGI ran out of stock about 3 years ago.
