I shared many of the same concerns about ordering one of these as did many of my fellow firearm owners here. I simply assumed I would get a firearm that was at the bottom end of that 70-80% rating, an assumption that proved wrong - but in the worst way. At best, my model 10 could be called 50%. I even asked the gentleman at my local FFL how he'd appraise it on a 1-10 scale and he said about a 4. There was probably 30-40$ bluing LEFT - absolutely NONE on the barrel, cylinder and the entire underside of the frame. The sides were mostly gone as well. There was very, very noticeable pitting on much of the bare metal and the bore was spotty. I'm hoping that can be cleaned and removed but as of yet, I have been unable to do so with conventional cleaning methods.
Now this next part isn't near as important to me but the wood grips wore absolutely horrendous. Dry, no finish left and scratched rather extensively. Again, not a huge deal as this was a carry weapon. All to be expected. The metal, however, was not.
