Used S&W Police Model 10 38sp Round Butt [VPD104RB]
by James M
Date Added: Sunday 16 September, 2012
Picked up my S&W Saturday. Googled the S&W Model 10 revolver inspection checklist and performed the inspection. I did not remove the side plate after reading about the difficulty in removal/reinstallation. Further research indicated that is not required for my purposes. Everything else is within tolerance according to the checklist. .A tight 008" measurement between the barrel and cylinder, cylinder cycles correctly when the hammer is cocked, movement of all parts is correct when the trigger is pulled, etc. The weapon appears to be well maintained. Some of the blueing is worn away from being holstered. This is very minor. The wood grips look new with no nicks or wear marks. No rust or pitting was noted anywhere on the weapon. I cleaned, (really didn't need it), and oiled the revolver and took it to the range Sunday. I fired 30 rounds of American Eagle 38 special using the single and double action methods with no problems. All in all, for the price and quality, I have to give this one a 5. This is the ninth or tenth weapon I have bought from Buds. I have absolutely no complaints about my experiences.
