M10-762 Semi-Auto AK Style Rifle 7.62x39 [M10-762]
$799.00
by Joseph P
Date Added: Monday 16 January, 2012
I ordered late Thursday night and it arrived at the FFL on Monday afternoon. I opened the box with a bit of concern after reading the reviews, 75% have been 5 star, and the rest not so great. Out of the box, I checked the rivets on the stamped receiver, popped the dust cover and spring / bolt carrier and barrel, checked the play in the charging handle and verified that the sights were aligned. As this was my first AK/variant I wanted to make sure before I signed the transfer, so the owner of the shop and another customer (and AK owner), looked it over and gave it a big thumbs up.
Rifle was clean except for the bits of packing foam. There was a hole in the box where the charging handle poked through, but the fit and finish are fine. The receiver cover is a bit thin, but I had purchased a new cover with integral Picatinny rails for a scope and it fit right on.
I haven't fired a round through her yet, but after the field strip and cleaning, I see no reason to foresee any issues, but will let y'all know.
Also, I had heard a lot about the 30 round mag being a POS that you should toss, but the one that came with this rifle is the same quality as the 20 round Tapco mags that I have, with the same snug fit.
I definately believe this was a great buy and Bud's supplied a fine firearm with fast service, and I'll be back!
