I believe this is my 4th or 5th gun purchase from Buds. Up until this purchase, the product (all S&W products) as well as the transaction were flawless. I went to my regular FFL to pick up the gun when it arrived and upon inspection, noticed that neither of the magazines (both empty of course) would not latch into the gun with out being "slammed" into it. I googled around a bit and noticed that this gun has a couple of bad characteristics; the mag release sometimes doesn't grab (letting the mad drop out of it - which if you are being shot at is not a very good thing) and the slide lock is EXTREMELY stiff. I returned the gun directly to S&W. S&W service is top shelf and they sent a prepaid return label and replaced the magazine lock. The gun is not flawless, other than the slide lock being nearly impossible. I don't use it, so it is not a problem. When the gun locks open after emptying a mag, I stuff another full mag in and just rack the slide back (rather than press the slide lock release). I also have this gun in .40 but the slide release is much better (actually functional) for some reason. My next gun will come from Buds.
