EAA 999044 Witness Polymer 16+1 9mm 4.5"

This is a great gun at a tremendous price. Locally the same Witness was selling for $50 -$150 more (after adjusting for transfer, tax, etc.) Buds service was super fast and communication was top notch..

First impressions out of the box? Even though I have never owned a poly framed gun, I can definitely say my Witness is not "wimpy" at all. It feels very solid in my hand. Tolerances are tight and demonstrate a gun which is well made. This gun points with ease and I found the 3 dot sights to be right on at 10 yards. The magazine drops easily and slides into place just the way it should.

While I have not had enough time to give a more detailed range report, I can say that at 10 yards it was easy to keep the rounds in the black. I found that I repeatedly placed my shots in a 2" ragged hole. I'm certain that in a rest the group size would fall to the 3/4" - 1" range at 10 yards. I have yet to try shooting at 25 yards.

My witness handled both Federal FMJ and cast lead RN without a hitch. The trigger in DA is long and hard, but the SA was light and easy to operate. And I'm certain that after 500 rounds or so, the trigger will also be much smoother. The Witness P can be carried cocked and locked for those who might carry one as a service pistol.

My only complaint was that the trigger was not comfortable when firing DA. The edges were too sharp and needed to be rounded over a bit to be more user friendly. In SA.... no problem.

I bought this gun for a range gun. While I mostly shoot paper, I couldn't help popping bowling pins and steel targets. This gun is a natural when it comes to rapid target acquisition. Which reminds me.... This gun is a blast to shoot!

All in all.... I'm very pleased! Just proves that quality, accuracy and shooting fun can still be found for a great price!.
