Phoenix Arms HP22 .22LR Black Finish, Black Grips [HP22ABB]
by Brad D
Date Added: Saturday 02 March, 2013
I bought this gun because my wife and I are new to handguns and wanted something that was inexpensive and cheap on ammo so that it wouldn't break the bank practicing our technique. This little gun fit the bill quite nicely. It's fun to shoot and decently accurate for a short barrel. We easily put lead on paper at 15yds and my wife is able to hit the target at 50 yards. Not hitting the bullseye, but hitting 10in circle fairly consistently. We've put about 900 rounds through it with only 3 fte's. Not bad for a $130 gun.
Be aware before you buy it that Phoenix Arms recommends Standard Velocity rounds (nothing over 1150 fps). They run a bit more expensive and are harder to find. I've read of others running higher velocity through it, but you risk cracking the frame (though the lifetime warranty makes this less of a concern).
