This is the quickest sight aquiering gun on the market, The triangle sights with low bore axis slide and forward slanted trigger angle makes shooting extremely fast. First mag out of the box I let loose with rapid fire, I told my wife the same and she did very well. First rapid firing she has ever done and her aim was point on, she's ok with most guns but overall has extremely limited experience. We shot 150 rounds the first time out with this and it ran flawless. Very short trigger reset and pull. If you need a compact gun, this is what you want. My large hands are to big for it so I put 2 strips of grip tape and I felt like there was no way my grips was anything but awesome. Yes short handle but ergo's make your hand ride high and the grip tape doesn't allow it to move. I grip tape all my guns, so that isn't anything different than my Ruger's, 1911's, Glock's, Sig's, or Baby Eagle's. I just love the added control and believe you must try before knocking it.
Overall, in my experience this gun has run better than any gun I have ever owned, shot or seen shot. I bought a SR9 for my wife because she loves the external safety, but somehow now this is the gun she likes on her nightstand. It's the same weight as my Glock 23 gen with less fire power and smaller gun, because it is built like a tank. I will buy more Steyr handgun's. My new favorite side arm brand. No disrespect to my gen 4 g23,21,22,19,17,35, P226,P226EE, P229 and X-five P220 but this gun has caught my heart and earned my trust. As great as sig and glocks are when I buy the Steyr M9-A1 it will be my EDC for sure.
I have shot XDM's, M&P's, very high end 1911's every gun in my review and just about anything I can rent in Las Vegas ( which is almost everything ) and nothing ever said to me what this did. Perfection
