STEYR M9-A1 9MM 17RD BLK
[397232K]
$453.00

Yesterday I was able to put 4 mags of 15 rounds of 115gr, reloads through this new gun. First I should say right off that I was completely amazed at the fine machine work. The ramp is polished to a mirror finish and inside of the barrel is the same way. I manipulated the slide and felt that it was sturdy and sound, and did not wobble. The sight is triangular at the front and has two conjoining lines to make a triangle when acquiring a target. Several people who I showed the gun to commented on the wonderful sights and the ergonomic feel of the grip and angle of the grip. Before I shot it, I wrote STI to ask if they could modify the trigger from 5.5 lbs to 3 lbs. They said, "No." but when I took it onto the range, I did not notice it at all. It has a short trigger travel and when one squeezes, it goes off before you know it and the bullet travels right to the spot you aimed.
I have a CZ-P07-Duty and a CZ-75 SP-01 Phantom. Of the several Glocks, S&Ws, Tauruses, and Springfields, I have felt the CZs were the most accurate. However, now the Steyr M9A1 is rivaling the CZs. It the humidity and gnats had not driven me off, I would have put more ammo through. I had 1 FTF. I had left the gun lying in the 90 degree temp. sun and the barrel was getting hot from the constant firing. I cleared it and it kept shooting.
When I arrived home, I cleaned the gun. It is easy to take down and the recoil spring is easy to re-insert.
For storage, it comes with two small "key-like" tools that can lock the gun for safe storage. It reminds me of the Tauras PT09 which has a similar mechanism for safe storage.
Watch this gun become a real popular gun when everyone finds out about it.
