CAR MDL-F STD 9MM PST 18RD B
[F1SS9011]
$429.00
by Randal H Date Added: Tuesday 16 October, 2012
I bought the Caracal F after reading perhaps 20-30 online reviews and comments, most of which were very positive. Right out of the box I was impressed by the overall aesthetics, feel, and obvious quality the gun exudes. After firing about 500 rounds of the cheapest ammo I could find, I have decided to spend a dollar or two more per box as I did have a couple of jams. This wasn't a big topic of concern in all the reviews I have read, so I am optimistic that better bullets will be the cure. The gun's front sight was off slightly from the factory, but once corrected it is very accurate. Recoil is low and it's a blast to shoot. Little things like having a magazine that drops like it's supposed to, a slide that locks perfectly every time, a trigger that is perfect out of the box, a loaded chamber indicator, and simple take-down, all add up to a very happy shooter. My prior gun was an original Glock 19, and provided the better ammo helps, I would say this gun is much much nicer. One more thing; I was disgusted with myself when I thought my titanium wedding ring scratched the slide, before I had even fired it. I couldn't get the scratches out, but after cleaning the gun following a shooting session, I was amazed that I couldn't see a trace of the scratches in the Plazox finish. I'm still rather dumbfounded about their disappearance, but hugely relieved. Maybe it's self-healing!
