This is my first AK-47. I chose this one based on price, quality, it's made in America, and it has a lifetime warranty. The fit and finish are excellent. The wood furniture is top notch. I was planning on upgrading to black plastic tactical furniture but now I think I will keep it all original. FYI my hand grip and magazines are BLACK not orange like in the picture. Not a problem for me, just wanted to let people know they may get black instead of orange.
My only complaint is with the magazines. The firearm came with two black I. O. polymer mags. One fit in the mag well, it was very tight, but it did fit. The other one did not fit. It would not go into the mag well all the way and lock. Also, I tried several other mags that I had already bought while waiting for my AK to arrive at my FFL. A 30-round TAPCO polymer mag, two steel surplus 30-round mags, and two steel surplus 40-round mags, The TAPCO mag will not fit at all. It's way too wide for the mag well. The 30-round steel mags worked fine, the 40-round mags did not. With some minor gunsmith work I managed to get the I. O. mag and the 40-round mags to insert into the mag well, but I gave up on the TAPCO mag. I appreciate the quality and tight tolerances but I also expect AK mags to fit right the first time without modifications. That's why I gave this AK four out of five stars.
