For a police used classic Walther p1 my gun came in great shape. Hardly any scuffs on it. The markings on the gun indicate it was made at the Bundeswehr Walther factory on the western controlled side of the Berlin Wall at the time. The products creation date is December 1961 so its an earlier p1 model which means it doesn't have the hex pin that so many p1 fans claim to rather have but I like it without the pin; it looks more sleek and I definitely will not put it through the stress required to have my frame crack under the use that people claim is necessary to crack a non-hex pin model. Beautiful piece of hardware this gun is. I can't be anymore pleased with it. The only downside but it is hardly a problem to me considering it is an old used gun is that there is some rust on a few of the inner parts but nothing that would stop this thing from firing or lessen its value. Your gonna need to clean it when you get it because these guns are really lubed up with gun grease which is not a bad thing. The gun also has an imported print on the right side of the slide that half covers the guns production date which is not a big deal because you can still see it. The imprint says "Germany PW Arms Redmond WA", it is colored white. This was applied here in the states and is not a Walther company imprint. I plan on shooting this baby soon and have no doubts that will not go bang when I pull the trigger. Buds did a great job again. Never a surprise to me how fast they deliver. I ordered it on a Sunday night and got it Wednesday. To all you thinking about purchasing this gun as a collectible that you want to shoot at the range once in a while, well then definitely get this gun from buds you wont be sorry. But don't forget that it is the luck of the draw on the condition and model year when you buy from an any assortment of police used p1's. I just happened to get a great product.
