Where to begin-this is the 2nd USED pistol I have bought from Buds. The first a Colt Wiley Clapp which was absolutely beautiful. I could not tell the weapon had ever been fired. Eventhough I was a little apprehensive, the purchase turned out great.
Now the latest USED weapon-A Nighthawk Falcon, Commander-This one is even better than the first. It is difficult to tell the pistol has ever been fired. I inspected after disassembly and every part that you would expect on a Custom Weapon is there. Slide to Frame is TIGHT! Bushing fits perfect, Extended ejector, tuned extractor, polished ramp, SS barrel that locks up just right, no machine marks on the slide near locking lugs, Recessed slide stop pin and Barrel crown, Checkered front and rear strap, fluted stop of slide, checkered slide rear, firing pin stop fitted to slide(good & tight), Those are all the things I found with field stripping. I have not completely disassemblied the sear, hammer, and mainspring but I expect those will be as good as the rest of the equipment.
The only thing I found that doesn't seem correct is the firing pin-They are supposed to be 2.290(min)-2.296(max) and this one is 2.306 and it is very thin at the tip. So a non-NHawk firing pin would not fit because it is thicker at the tip. Its not anything that would make me even consider returning the pistol but just be sure to check any used pistol/weapon to be sure of it's makeup so there are no accidents.
Bottom line, if Buds says the pistol is in excellent condition, you can believe them. Do not hesitate to make a purchase simply because there is no pic and it's used. I am very pleased with both of mine and the NIghthawk is a fine Custom weapon.
