You do not pick a valid FFL dealer we already have on file
This was my first 1911, and my first purchase from Bud's. The pistol arrived at my FFL in about a week, and that was right around Christmas, which was impressive. I have nothing but good things to say about the service at Bud's. The pistol itself was pretty decent. Like I said, this was my first 1911, so my frame of reference was small, but the slide to frame fit seemed pretty tight, and the finish and feel were great. I put 100 rounds through the pistol, and was shooting 2" groups at 20 yards. The stock MecGar clip was unreliable. I'm not sure if mine was damaged internally (it looked fine externally), but I had 3 stovepipes in 16 rounds. I bought a couple of Chip McCormick clips, and had absolutely no problems feeding ammunition after that. The only critique I have of the pistol is the trigger pull. It's really heavy. I don't have a way to measure it, but compared to other pistols I've shot and know the pull weight, it felt like about 8 pounds. I was contemplating getting a trigger job done on it, but ended up selling it and putting the money towards a Kimber. Regardless of the trigger however, this is a great pistol for the price. With a 100 dollar trigger job and maybe some night sights, it could be an awesome piece.
