All in all i'm happy with this purchase. New to 1911s ... Shot a kimber and an RIA before, but didnt really pay much attentiion to fit and finish when i did. I am certain i remeber that this is much better than the RIA!

Ordered on tuesday, and at myy ffl friday afternoon! He was a little annoyed that i bought a 1911 from turkey(good ol' boy) but was impressed upon examining and agreed prices on a colt right now are outrageous and i said a 1911 is better than no 1911!

Cons: trigger is not fit very well...it definitely has play, however at roughly 4 lbs and breaking in it feels better every time i pull it. Beaver tail safety also not fit very well...rattles when gun is shaken. Front sight blade is wrong...its too high and doesnt have a white dot to match the rear novak style white dot sight. Because of this the gun shoots approx 3" low at 10 yds with standard 230 grain ball. I'm sending the gun to novak to have them replace the front blade but looks like it will cost me nearly $150 with shipping, installation, parts and sight in/zero guarantee.
Dont buy this if you plan to shoot P or any hot ammo. I spoke with the importer and he said not enough testing has been done to recommend it...and i'm not going to be the one to test it. Getting a little wear towards the front of the frame where the slide rubs but nothing major.

Gun functioned decently at the range...two stovepipes/fte in 100 rounds but that may have been due to break in/limp wristing (we were letting the wives shoot it). One failure with the act mag that comes with it and one with a standard colt 8 rnd mag.

I say go for it! If your planning to put a laser on the rail then the sights might not be an issue for you anyway (ps. Not just my gun...3 others i know just got this model and are having the same 3" low impact problem).

Great pistol for the $!

Again fit and finish otherwise, very impressive.
