[STINGRAYB]

I picked this Stingray up around December time, I wanted to get some range time before I wrote a review. Hands down, this is the most accurate 9mm handgun I have ever shot. I am a US Navy Veteran and consistently scored Expert on the M9 qualification, but this weapon far surpasses the Beretta. I am able to shot fist size groups at 25 yards all day with this weapon. Weight is a little heavy for a CCW, but the balance is great for a GTW weapon. The fit and finish are top notch for the price. This weapon is a clone of the CZ75 as many have seen, but there bears a striking resemblance to the P-01. The grip and frame are full size like the CZ75 combat, but the barrel and slide are more to the P-01. I have looked at a P-01 to compare and Canik makes a better weapon. No tool marks on the interior, nor any dings or scratches. What a weapon!!
On to the negative, which is minor to some but major to me. Upon receiving the weapon, I cleaned it as I do with all new purchases. I noticed that the sight paint was "orangish" and I went to clean what I thought was packing grease. To my surprise, "orangish" is the color of the sights and I effectively removed all of the paint! On a brand new weapon I find this unsatisfactory. I repainted the sight with white primer and glow paint, but still. The grips are plastic, plastic and plastic. They aren't very grippy and if your hands are wet or sweaty, you will not have good dexterity. Since the frame is full size CZ75 style, a new set of rubber grips will solve this problem. Its because of these two things that I have to give the weapon a 4 out of 5. Sorry guys!
Other than that, a fine addition to any collection! You will be very impressed with any of Canik's line up if the Stingray is an indication of their quality.
