I'm a fan of the CZ platform and more recently I've been purchasing and enjoying some of the clones. My last few purchases have included a Witness, Baby Eagle and TZ. They are all good weapons, each with things I prefer over the CZ design and each with things that fall short. The Canik Shark platform has so far exceeded my expectations. I like the standard trigger better than the CZs I own, the build quality is fantastic and Bud's is correct when they talk about the accuracy of this gun in the video review: it is extremely accurate. Having a nice light weight full size weapon which has recoil characteristics similar to the heavy ones.. well, it's awesome. The lack of heft is offset by the porting.. plus the thing looks great. I have always wanted to stumble across a Jericho 941 in satin chrome but this fills that need at a much lower price. The only issues I have thus far are: the safety is what I would describe as "grimy". I like the shape and location of the safety, but it is sometimes difficult to move and occasionally sticks enough to require me to change my grip completely in order to move it. I believe that this issue will work itself out over time as I wear in the pistol, so I'm not worried about it. Secondly, the sights aren't great. I say that coming from the position that the CZ-75 stock sights aren't great either- so in that way, the Shark is on par with the CZ, but I'm not a fan of either. To me, they don't pop at all, and are difficult to see in low light situations. There are plenty of aftermarket options, but out of the box they are only passable. Overall it's a great value and I think most people will really appreciate this weapon. The Shark came completely covered in oil, so a good cleaning was required- but after that it's off to the races. Since I started shooting the Shark, I haven't even pulled the trigger on any of my CZs. If this is an indicator of the build quality of all Turkish guns, I'm going to have to purchase a few more!
