Well, First off, buds shipped out the rifle in a decent time frame.. When its actually picked up from BUDS by UPS, it ships fairly fast. But the Shipping phase takes a few days, especially if your waiting period runs into the weekend. I avoided the Cash Discount to avoid the lengthy "check clearing" delay.
The Rifle was a bit rougher than expected..
-Wood was in different shades of ugly(again, i was not expecting fair/poor condition), LOTS of gouges and dents.
-Bluing was OK, and as expected,
-It was caked on with cosmoline all all all over( i like that it was well protected, but it was a #@%@$@ taking it off)...boiling SOAPY water will do the trick.
I was a bit disappointed overall in the poor condition it was in.
The Type 53 shown is not typical of what you will get, im certain of it! I knew it would be a bit rough, but like most gun stores, they always feature the best possible shape gun you can expect, not the typical conditioned one you would get. Buds should reconsider the "Condition Labeling System\". "Good Condition" does not apply like it would for most all other consumer products.
Overall, i did accept the rifle because it would be a work horse,a truck/backup/all-around/fun shooting rifle. I will enjoy it for what it is. If i could go back in time, i would still buy it i think.
REMEMBER, you cannot shoot the surplus ammo you can get for it at the Range, due to it being FMJ(some to most ranges do not allow FMJ).
