Chinese Type 53 Carbine, Cal. 7.62x54R
by Micah D Date Added: Friday 15 February, 2013
My type 53 was of course pretty dinged up but it is a really cool gun and definitely worth the money. No matching parts but mine was fairly easy to clean and it had a smooth action even with the cosmoline on it. This is an awesome piece of history - mine was stamped 1956. No rust and mine had great rifling. Seeing that this rifle has been through hell and back really has really been a humbling experience. I don't know if this rifle saw battle but to me it's a reminder of what our troops face everyday. If you're looking for a piece of history, a fun carbine to refinish, or just something to throw in a truck then this is the gun to buy.
