Chinese Type 53 Carbine, Cal. 7.62x54R
[RI1968G]
$133.00

I purchased this rifle for a farm gun, it's a good caliber and it's cheaper than a .22lr, plus the mosin nagant design is well proven. I have 3 other mosins, two 91/30s and an M39, all of which I love, but considering the history behind those guns I hate to use them for something as utility as a farm rifle. That's where the Type 53 comes in, it's cheap and effective, everything I need.
Granted I was somewhat concerned, the reviews seem to indicate that the gun you receive will either be in great condition or entirely junk. However, since bud gives the option to return with no shipping overhead, I thought I'd give it a shot, nothing to lose.
Thankfully the rifle I received was in good condition. They are NOT lying when they say the stock is rough, but they're mostly aesthetic bumps and nicks, no huge gouges or cracks in the wood, mine was also covered in some white glue-like residue. The gun metal looked good too, The bore was full of junk, but after getting it home and cleaning it, there is good rifling and even a light shine to it. There was a fair bit of surface rust under the wood on the barrel, but there is no pitting anywhere on the gun. It cleans up VERY nice with a light sanding and a bit of finish (if you're fine with refinishing, that is).

If you're thinking about buying one of these rifles, I say go for it, there's really no risk, if you get a bad gun you can always send it back for free (make sure your FFL dealer is fine with this, if you use one).
