It was hard to decide on a 4 or 5 star rating of this gun due to the beauty of this gun. The picture on buds really gives it no justice. This gun DOES in fact come with real wood grips, but they feel and look like plastic due to how they were coated. Now for why I had to rate them 4 out of 5... My gun came looking like a $1200 1911, but upon trying to shoot it the first time I had constant FTF's and FTE's. After a really close investigation I noticed the extractor looked really loose compared to my 2 other 1911's (tisas & s&w e series). After looking on YouTube on how check and to self tune your extractor I got brave enough to try it for myself, and to my surprise, with great success. The next time out shooting, this Girsan 1911 began to shoot as good as it looked. 75 out of 75 rounds fired as perfectly as it looked. I'm assuming I just got the gun that had the one extractor that wasn't "tuned in" as I seem to have terrible luck in life. I swapped out the grips for the black hogue rubber ones and they seem to make it look that much smoother. I haven't tried out the magazine that came with the gun as it looks kind of cheap, but just went with the always trusty chip McCormick and s&w 1911 mags. The slide on this gun truly is a mirror finish and a fingerprint magnet as described by another reviewer. All in all I would recommend buying this gun if your debating it. Looks like at least 2 or 3X more expensive than it was, and by reading other reviews I'm assuming I really did just get that one rare bad extractor. On one other note, the front site is kind of disappointing as it does not have a white dot... Really don't understand the logic there.
