This is the handiest and well built little pistol. I carry it any time I’m in the woods, it’s light and small enough that it’s no burden to carry on the hip or in the waist band. Very accurate as well.

Too hard to eject spent cartridge cases. Takes the joy out of shooting this gun. Other than being nice looking gun I basically have no need for it.

This is a fine little revolver. Fun to shoot because it's small, light and accurate. I read here that some had problems ejecting spent .22 shells but I have not had a problem with that. Clean the cylinder with a bore brush an lube before you shoot and it should be fine. I wouldn't think twice about buying one again.

Beautiful little revolver, fit and finish are flawless. However, before I even made it through a box of 50 rounds on the first range visit the cylinder started to lock up on me. I had to remove the cylinder, remove the ammo to get it to function again. With no ammo it works flawlessly. Load it up and after the first shot locks up again. Tried three different brands of ammo with same result, so pretty sure it is not the ammo. Sent it back to Ruger and waiting to see what they say about it. Nice little revolver, really want it to work!

I read all the previous reviews before I purchased this firearm. As a state certified armorer and gunsmith I will say this gun is as described a mechanical jewel . The fit and finish on mine is outstanding . Every thing operates smoothly and as it should . I am as delighted to own it as my Wilson Combat weapons . It might not have a 3 pound trigger but one should not expect that from a 550 dollar firearm , however it is a pleasure to shoot and functions beautiful . It looks as good and will stay in my collection till someone else takes charge . I am proud to own it and Ruger did well . Reviews complain about the sharp ejection rod but if you look it is made so it can eject the casings and still allow for the cylinder pin to be removed . If you place your finger in front of the rod it works correctly and looks great. This is a great little gun well worth the money . I ordered this gun on a Saturday and got it on Wednesday Buds gets 5 stars as well

This was my first gun purchase with Bud's. It was a truly delightful experience, other than the wait time for the electronic draft! That few days seems like an eternity when you're waiting for a gun to ship. But I understand, and wouldn't do it different if I owned the shop. The number of options they have available to get your new favorite gun in your hand is incredible. Its partially about generating revenue, sure... but it's also a matter of customer service. The kind of effort they put forth just isn't available at most places, and I truly appreciate a business that will take that extra step. I have bought more guns online than I care to disclose, but this was the first time I have hit submit and didn't have reservations about the reputation or reliability of the company I had just sent a weeks pay. Oh, the gun! Well you can never have to many Ruger's... or... Glocks, or Smiths, or Colts, or Sig's, or HK's. Additional paychecks are forthcoming, so I'll be in contact in a few weeks!!!!!!

Grips on my pistol do not sit flush with the frame, that is the only gripe I have with this beautiful gun. A stainless Bearcat, 3" barrel and birdhead grip... Damn this is one sweet shooter. For the price I could buy a 45lc but without a Bearcat yet in my collection this is an absolute must have. Hammer and trigger have improved with use and the cylinder engraving is is very nice. The stainless finish of this gun will bring a smile to your face any time your eyes are upon it or when it is balanced in your palm. I want another to have a matching set.

Fired a total of 12 shots through it and it is going back to Ruger. First, the cylinder was hard to load - the cartridges did not want to go in without using force. They did fire but did not want to come out, even using the ejector, which seems too short. Had to use a tool to get out the spend cartridges. Switched to different ammo with same result. One misfire, did go off the second time around. Part of wooden grip broke off. The fit of the grips to the frame is horrible - one can see daylight between frame and grips when looked at from the side. Tool marks on the transfer bar. Ejector sharp and pointy - has to be deburred or it will cause bleeding. 3.5" group at 7 yards, trigger average, transfer bar rattles. Grip panels to wide - and this is a distributers special? It appears that the inside of the cylinder is not honed, no excuse for a not cheap gun. Not impressed. Bud's service good as always in the purchase - we will see how they handle the return/exchange.

I ordered on the 19th and I'm holding it on the 22th. This is even better looking than the picture. Thanks again bud's for great service. This little guy just worked its way to my favorite list.

I wished for a birdshead Bearcat for years before they were made. When they actually were made Bud's is the only place that could actually supply one. Great gun!! Great service.

Fantastic little pistol. Fits snugly and securely in a cross draw holster for concealed or open carry. I can be faulted for concealed carry with a 22LR but it is more powerful, loaded and on belt than a 44 magnum at home in a gun safe.....lol. Loads slow as does all single action revolvers, but is dead aim for pointing and murdering targets at 25 feet. While I have fairly large hands, the bird's head grip fits well and comfortably. Its a firearm I would encourage others to try out and add to their collection. There were some sharp edges on left side of hammer and shell ejection handle but a small file and emery cloth solved that easily. I did paint the sights for a clearer sight picture, which worked well. Bud's Gun Shop shipped the firearm as scheduled and without any difficulties to my local dealer. I would highly recommend both the firearm and Bud's Gun Shop to anyone contemplating an on-line service.

Neat gun, fun to shoot, however the ramrod is too short to push out empty rounds completely, and the one on my gun was so sharp that it drew blood the first time I used it, also the fit and finish on grips was very poor.

If you have not shot one of these and like 22 revolvers, you really need to try to get one no matter how long it takes, this is one of the most fun to shoot and great looking little revolvers I have ever seen.

The Ruger Bearcat Shopkeeper is nice looking and well put together revolver. Shipping was very quick to my FFL, ordered on Monday arrived on Thursday. I have not had a chance to take it out yet but look forward to teaching my daughter to shoot it this summer.

Shipping was prompt to my FFL, even with a blizzard on the east coast, and gun-buying craziness in general. The little Bearcat is nice looking and well put together except for one problem: The base pin's detent is not in the correct place, so it walks out when firing. Have contacted Ruger about this, and expect to get the revolver fixed with no issue. Took it out only once so far (due to snow here) and put 250 rounds of various manufacture threw it. It's a very accurate little pistol, hitting cans at 25 yards most of the time offhand. Loading & unloading a tiny, single action 22 is a pain in the ass, especially in freezing weather, but can't fault Ruger for that. It's a very handsome revolver and look forward to teaching my daughter to shoot it this summer.
