I have had this 1911 for a few years now and have about 6k rounds through it. I have had maybe two or three jams due to the gun just being to dirty (each time after about 500 rounds). Once cleaned it was fine. The price was good.

I have received my weapon quick. The Tisas 1911 45 is awesome, I put over a 1000 rounds through this weapon and it has not missed fired, jammed or give me any problems. I am very satisfied with this weapon.

I found it to be a great gun for the price. I could not pay 3 x as much for a named brand gun that is only a little better.

Very good 1911 shot over 600 rounds, no problems, changed the grips too the mapul black synthetic grips, it made it feel like a different pistol. Very good value if you don't have a lot of money for a 1911.

This is a true-to-form 1911. There is nothing "entry level" about it. The craftsmanship and tolerances are impeccable. I have had this gun for almost six months, now, and am just as pleased as when I first purchased it. The tolerances are excellent; no "shake, rattle and roll." One, important note: do not treat this as a "match grade" weapon. This gun was constructed to do one thing and that is, to work. I have made a few minor things to my Tisas: a new Wilson Combat GI recoil spring (I shoot, primarily, higher grain cartridges), a new WC slide stop and a stainless steel recoil spring (personal preference). So far, every item has fit without any adjustments of any kind. As far as ftfs or ftes, they are non-existent. I use both the Mec-Gar magazines and Colt 7 rounders. As for Buds so-called "high shipping" rates, let me tell you something: I was about to purchase a box of Buffalo Bore ammunition, last week, from a very prominent Outdoors site. Yes, the shipping was a whole 5 CENTS cheaper, but the same box of ammo was 12 DOLLARS PLUS cheaper here! Another site was comparable, but wanted to charge 18 DOLLARS shipping! It's all relative, I guess... All and all, great gun, great service. I WILL be back!

Just what I was looking for! I don't like "dressed up" weapons...KISS! Has all that I need and functions flawlessly. Well built and a good buy. I'm thinking I may need another one at this price point! I've purchased a few guns from Bud's lately....Good experience every time so far with Bud's and my local dealer Jax! Both have been great! I'll be buying more in the future. Keep your powder dry friends!

Since no one did an in-depth review I will. It seems when people are happy the review is two sentences. When they're enraged it's pages. This gun deserves this review. I had always wanted a classic old-style 1911 like my grandfather's from WWII, but two things stopped me. First, the pricetag on a Colt would run $700 or more, and second, I aleady owned a reliable M9 and had no actual need for a second handgun. But of course that second part didn't stop me from perusing the bargain pistol lists. That's how I landed on this Tisas. It seemed too good to be true, exactly what I wanted for $350 (the lowest the Make-an-Offer went). I did thorough research into the gun, almost hoping to read scathing reviews on it being unreliable, innaccurate, etc. I found none. Well ok, sure there were a *couple* of bad reviews on them, but it seemed like 98-99% of Tisas 1911 owners were very happy. So I took the leap of faith and I bought one, but I promised myself I would be very hard and fairly critical of the Tisas 1911 based on my experiences with Colt 1911s, a Kimber, and Springfields. I also decided I would wait a few months before reviewing it. Buds, as everyone knows, shipped it very promptly, and in two days I was walking into the FFL to pick it up (I have a CWP). Initial inspection was very hopeful. The slide was silky smooth to rack, the parts were all tight. I disassembled and looked over everything, not a single issue. I was very happy to see that it has a trigger-pull-safety-mechanism, whereby the trigger must be pulled in order for the firing pin to be free to strike the cartridge. Meaning that you can drop it down a flight of stairs and the gun will not accidentally fire. My grandfather's did not have that. The slide is stamped "Zig M 1911" and "Warning: Before using read owners manual." and "Made in Turkey". The sights are your typical GI issue terrible, and that's exactly what I wanted. the barrel is shiny stainless steel. The magazine was also pretty impressive. High quality Mec-Gar. The gun came with a worthless carrying case, a semi-worthless nylon brush, and a manual. No gun lock (not that I care). A spare 7-round magazine I had slid in fine, though it was/is tight. Feeding rounds through the gun would result in the occasional jam, though this is normal for new 1911s. In the subsequent days I put 300 rounds through the Tisas 1911, and I did not have a single failure to fire. Not a single stove-pipe. The trigger pull is decently crisp, and not hard at all. I read reviews of people complaining it was too hard to pull it... I suggest they invest in a gym membership. This gun is also pretty accurate too. Not as good as the M9, but surprisingly more accurate than anticipated. For the past three months I've been carrying this 1911 more often than the M9, that's the level of reliability I think it has. Now here's the bad. The finish is not getting any awards. Short of this gun living on silk pillows or in a display case, it will get scratched up fairly quickly. To me this is actually great, because I want it to look worn and old. If you're buying this 1911 you have to accept that it isn't going to look like a Kimber. It doesn't get *badly* scratched up but it gets scratched. Secondly the slide wiggle. NOW BEFORE I EXPLAIN let me point out that Springfields, S&Ws, Colts, even a Kimber or two... will have that 1911 slide wiggle. Just the way the 1911 is. I just want to be as detailed as possible here, and yes it has that slide wiggle after a few hundred rounds down range. This gun will accept literally any 1911 magazine just fine, but like it's 1911 competition the caveat is that you have to hold the weapon vertically for the mag to drop out. The brown plastic grips are worthless, and through eBay I replaced them with GI issue walnut for $15. Do that. The rear sight could be replaced, but the front sight cannot. So if you're thinking you can modify the sights, you can't. Ultimately, after treating this 1911 rather harshly for 1/4 year, I gotta say I am very very pleased and impressed. For $350 it really is an amazing deal, and is just good enough to be true. In all honestly I think this Tisas 1911 can go toe to toe with the big names out there and give them a run for their money. If you're looking for a reliable 1911 but don't want to pay $700 or more, consider this one. I do want to mention that as my grandfather taught me, I run 1911s wet. Meaning there's a good amount of oil slicked all over the internal parts always. This makes the slide especially smooth to rack, as well as stops failure to feeds. I also very thoroughly cleaned it upon getting it from the FFL, including removing and cleaning the firing pin and extractor.

So far I like everything about this pistol. If you want a plastic pistol this ain't for you. It has good heft and light recoil. I really like the "clean" look, no gaudy symbols or unnecessary writing. I also like the finish but, I will be looking for some different grips just to dress it up a little. It shoots much better than I do. Great price and a 3 day delivery to my FFL. Thanks Buds

this was my first purchase from buds and it was amazing. they were quick to ship this to my ffl and in 2 days it was there. as for the pistol i love this weapon i took it out and fed 230 grain FMJ through it and it performed awesome not a single FTF and i used 3 different brands of mags the mec-gar that shipped with it 2 kimber mags and 2 S&W mags and it fired non-stop bottom line you can go wrong with this!

This is a GOOD pistol if you understanding what you are getting. Out of the box the finish looked great but soon was almost completely gone from the front and rear sights and top of the hammer. GI style sights are tiny and difficult to acquire quickly. A little white paint on the front sight helped a little. Trigger is a bit mushy and the slide has a fairly long lock time in between shots which slows down rapid fire. Steel case ammo seems to eat up the feed ramp rather quickly. At 50 rounds I noted quite a few tiny nicks on the ramp. Now, with the negative out of the way, this is a VERY reliable pistol so far. I have put 1000 rounds of various types of ammo through it with nary a problem. 230 gr ammo shoots to point of aim, 185 gr shoots pretty low, but I think that is inherent in most 1911's, at least in my experience. As accurate as my S&W 1911 for around 1/3 the cost but no where near as pretty and fast. I don't plan on doing any mods to this pistol as it is what is is. It will see its life spent in the console of my truck mainly. It is made well and should be a fine little pistol, but if you want something a little more upscale that is already equipped with better sights, grips and finish I would probably go for a Remington R1911 or Ruger SR1911. A Para 1911 stainless would be a nice one too. I would have gone this route if I didn't already have my S&W, but no sense spending the extra money when its function is a truck gun. I do not regret this purchase. I hope this helps in your consideration. Also, Buds is great. I opted to pay by credit card rather than take the cash discount, so I had my gun in three days from order to FFL.

This is my first 1911 and outta the box it's a nice looking gun. Everything seems to fit well, the mag release is harder to depress than I expected. I am comparing to Barretta m9 and a sig 40. Like I said my first 1911. I have not had the opportunity to shoot this yet. I will also be changing out the sights, not that they aren't usable my sight isn't what it used to be lol.
