Buds got this rifle to me in 3 days, awesome Bud's, Thank you. I am prior service and have intimate knowledge of the M-16 A1, A2 and the M4. They are great weapons but have one flaw. When carbon enters the bolt area (every time you pull the trigger) it burns off any oil and leaves the carbon behind. The more you fire it the dirtier and dryer it gets. There comes a time ( about 300 to 400 rounds) when it starts malfunctioning and get worse and worst until you clean it. The gas tube can get so blocked it will not allow enough gas through to drive the bolt back. As long as you keep a M-16 clean it is a great weapon system. I have had the Adams Arms rifle for about 6 months now with about 1200 rounds of ammo from various manufacturers, Federal, Prvi Partizan, Armscor, PMC Bronze, CBC, Independence, PMC X-TAC LAP, Federal American Eagle, Lake City, UMC, HPR. I also run many different manufacturers mag with the different ammo to find what works and what doesn't. I have come to the conclusion that I am not sure, not sure what doesn't work. Every combination I put in this thing works, different ammo, different weight bullets, different type HP, BALL, AP, ballistic tip, different mags, 20 rd, 30 rd, from 5 different manufacturers. Although I like P-Mags the best. Every combination I put through this weapon works, no FTF, FTE, no misfires, no hiccups what so ever.
I put a couple drops of oil on the bolt group and ran 200+ rds, to see what if any carbon fouling and oil burn I would get. None what so ever, the bolt was still wet with oil and there was no carbon fouling at all. I was amazed at how clean the weapon was. There was what looked like a carbon mist on a small section of the bolt. However, it was not fouling as when I touched it, it jumped on my finger. There was carbon where the gas piston releases the gas but a wipe with a cloth and it is gone. I have never took such a small amount of time to clean a weapon.
I highly recommend this weapon system to anyone new or old that wants to get into the AR-15 world. This piston weapon is one of the if not the best out there.
