I love this pistol. It's a great shooter and great value. Buds description was spot on. I'm totally satisfied with the firearm. If I have any gripe it would be that there was no box for the gun.

A great price for a great gun. It arrived within 3 days after completing my 90 layaway. It needed a good cleaning. I stripped it bare and cleaned out all the old grease and wiped down the frame. It performed flawlessly at the range. The finish is about 90% and the original S&W grip has its fair share of nicks and scrapes, but it adds to the gun. Novak sights were good and overall, I'd buy another one. A good solid classic pistol.

I ordered one of these 3rd gen S&W M5906s police trade ins recently, and it was delivered to my local gunshop (earlier than promised). BUDS was easy to deal with and made the whole process seamless for me. When I picked it up and inspected it I noticed that it looked almost brand new. No nicks or scratches and a quick field strip revealed an almost pristine gun inside and out. There was a little grip wear from holster use and I suspect that is where this one stayed most of the time. The night sights were dead, but that is to be expected on a gun almost 20 years old. Rather than redo the night sights, I got some oil paint pens and redid the front and rear sights with red and white dots over the old tritium dots, and it looks really great now and points well. This M59 shoots like a dream and the magazine it came with was factory S&W and spring was taut and feeding was flawless. I will come back to BUDS for future deals like this, as they always provide quality products and great service to their customers.

This was a police trade-in bought on 180 days layaway at a very good price. Stainless steel, 15 rd magazine, DA or SA, ambidextrous decocker/safety, wrap-around grips, and a 4" bbl. The gun wasn't pristine but there's no barrel bushing wear. It's very tight with no play at all. I disassembled it to clean it and install new Hogue grips. The grips must have been original as there was a bunch of crud underneath. Thankfully, there was no rust (yes, stainless steel can rust given enough time and neglect). It cleaned up well with some denatured alcohol and Ballistol. It's kind of pain to get it all back together, but not impossible, I took it to the range and it was smooth as butter. I was hitting 12" steel plates at 25 yards (most of the time) with 2 boxes of Federal ball. I think that's pretty good for 68 yr old eyes. Anyway, this is a fine piece of American steel. A bit on the heavy side, but you can shoot 9mm through it all day long and you never feel any recoil. I'm very pleased with the gun, with Bud's service and with the transfer agent, Arma Industries, Ashland, KY.

This is my second one of these PTI 5906's. This one was very rough. Rust on sights, hammer and especially underneath the plastic grip. The stainless steel under the grip was rusted to the point of being deeply pitted. Can't get pits out of course. Gun functions well though. Service from buds was good.

Excellent condition. Just needed a good cleaning. 250 rounds thru it without any trouble. But where are the 2 extra mags that most departments ship with the trades. If you got em, Buds, we will Buy them!!!!

Purchased this gun about three months ago. WOW was it rough looking when I picked it up at my FFL. The finish and grips were badly worn, the sights and hammer were rusted, there were a few deep gouges in the slide, and it was filthy inside and out. Mechanically, it worked flawlessly. It's very accurate and there is virtually no recoil. After some sanding and polishing and replacement parts it doesn't look too bad. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

This gun came in great shape and fired like a champ. Don't hesitate in buying it. Worth the money a doubt

Plenty of wear on the finish and grips but it functions great.

I ordered my smith & wesson 5906 on thursday it was at my ffd on monday it was a used gun it was in dire need of a good cleaning, but after a good cleaning it looks great. can't wait to go to the range with it this was my second purschase from buds and i can tell you it will not be my last was very satisfied with the price and buds is a great placr to do bussiness.

I wasn't expecting a like new pistol, but what I got from buds was a rusted gun, with: a cheap non-factory magazine that won't lock the slide back at all, and chewed up grips that comeven off without tools because the grip pin is missing. ..I think the description said good condition 80% but what I received was bad fair about 60%...thanks buds

I purchased this pistol for my son that is currently serving in the Army for his Christmas present.It came in much much better condition than I expected.I am so pleased with how nice this pistol is.The pistol came with Houge grips and not the factory hard plastic ones.There was not even any holster wear.Thanks so much Bud's you have 1 very satisfied customer.

This just arrived today and the description of this used S&W 5906 was accurate and acceptable. I knocked off one ratings point because upon disassembling and inspecting the pistol I discovered dried blood inside the magazine well, on the rear sight and on the magazine itself. Judging by the engravings on the magazine I am assuming this pistol came from a city police department in Mexico. I don't have a problem with that per se but I am now left wondering why my newly acquired pistol was delivered blood stained.

like the first one, bought a second one .These guns are solid steel gun at reasonable price ,the way they shoot there are a lot of round left in them. I would trust my life with them, would not hesitate to use these guns for home defense,thank BUDS

My 5906 was in great shape. Very minor holster wear, but like new otherwise. The grips had the most wear, but I had already gotten new grips while it was on layaway and promptly installed. Shoots great and the sights are right on. Fun gun to shoot. Don't really have an issue with the magazine safety, although it is easy to disable if so inclined. This is a great deal.

This is a used gun, so I’m rating it as a used gun. More importantly this is a used LE gun, not a gun someone shot at the range every now and then and kept in a safe. This is also not a gun you buy to resell on auctionarms or gunbroker. You’ll likely get just what you paid for it. I expected scratches on the grip, some rust, and maybe some grit and grime in the gun. My expectation when I purchased the gun was somewhere between 60%-80% at best. I would rate my gun in the 70% range with scratches on the grip and light scratches on the slide (holster wear) and the sight and hammer show some rust, but can be cleaned. More importantly, inside was clean and shiny. This gun was definitely cleaned regularly and what it lacked in cosmetics it made up internally. I can easily fix the cosmetics with new grips, new sights (more likely just clean the sights and touch up the white dots with paint) and some light cleaning. Gun functions like a champ and is exactly what I wanted. A great Smith in 9mm, tough as nails, and easy to care for. This gun will not be retired to my safe, and will see regular time on the range. It won’t replace my duty weapon or shield, but It feels good to shoot and has many uses. 5 stars for great service from Buds, 180 day layaway is almost too good to be true, and 5 stars for the used gun in the condition I expected. My third order from Buds, ALL went perfect. As long as you realize that you are getting a used side arm , you will be happy with this piece. It was a bit dirty , but the good news is it cleans up just fine and seems to be in really good shape. Shows some wear on the grips, but not enough to be upset about , after all, it is a police trade in. I am sure it will perform at the range like it is supposed to. I would not worry about getting one of these before they are all gone, unless you are the type that has to have everything "perfect" in your life, but is it more fun to shoot them than admire them in a glass case so they don't get scratched --have some fun SHOOT them .

My first purchase from Buds..will not be my last! Excellent firearm I must say! Just needed some TLC. A good cleaning, and got new grips and recoil spring coming to me, other than that...this handgun fires beautifully as is. Upon delivery I took it to the range. We should petition S&W to start making these again!

This is a great gun. The grip was really rough so I replaced it. Had a small indention on the safety but other than that in great shape. Flawless functionality. I love it so much I put the 6906 on layaway.
