Dynamite comes in small packages, and that definitely holds true for this little gun. It will handle any load you can, and then come back for more. I have handloaded the .45-70 with 510 grain hard-cast bullets up to 1650 fps, which is enough medicine to take down any big game including the Big Five. That load will go through an 8" oak like a stick of butter. The gun handles it without a complaint, which is more than I can say for my shoulder. If you shoot the Guide Gun with such heavy loads, you will HAVE to use recoil protection or you will regret it.

If you just have to have a high-velocity big-bore magnum and have the bucks to shell out for one, then by all means follow your heart. But if you want a very cost-effective, handy little powerhouse that will do the same job, get one of these!
