I dialed in this gun today. Factory scope is nice and once I got it in the pocket at 50 yards I tuned it at 100 yds and it's got good consistency, nice groups. Lever works smoothly, like John Wayne would enjoy if they had scopes in 1880. The wood is pretty, the stippling at the pistol grip and forearm is aggressive, Nice. It's an heirloom that feels like it wants to go hunting. I bought 4 guns from Bud's within the last few weeks and this one is going hunting too. I see kudos from Bud's in these reviews which seem over-the top so I never do it. But I will once: Isn't this a great place to buy guns? Beats my mega store hands down, who aren't open at 2 am after too much coffee and I am up and ready to relax and buy a nice firearm. And it arrives at the FFL, and the seas part and I say, "Happy to meet you, new firearm." And the guns from Bud's respond in that pleasant Kentucky accent. "My it's chilly here in New England."
"It's ok, Marlin 336W with the scope, I will hug you and the 30-30 will keep you warm."
"Oh thank you, Yankee."
"Not at all, Miss. And you'll be living with many other Buds' gun shop guns."
"You mean I might see my beloved GP 100 .357 magnum boyfriend?"
"He wants to keep it a surprise. Shhhh."
"Oh that man always made a fuss!"
The End. (Thank you. Thank you very much.)
