I bought this firearm because it was only $302 (at the time, not it's $297). I just fired my first two magazines today. It didn't really hurt my shoulder as much as my Dad's R700, but it didn't feel like some 22. The first cartridge sent the scope into my eye gear and hurt like a mother, still does as I'm writing this an hour or so later. I gave this product a four because if you're in the market for a nice 30-06 that's cheap then you can buy this. I want to hunt with it eventually, maybe when I learn to stop jerking the darn trigger, and maybe once I've calmed the recoil. I cannot give any good information on its reliability or whatever since I've only fired eight shots and never even hit a target at 50 yards (I will once I get this thing sighted in). If you're a wimp and can't take the recoil then buy a 308 or 270 Winchester for hunting deer, but if you can tame the beast that is the 30-06 then go ahead and click buy. Oh and buds shipped it well, they did a great job and so I'll be sure to find more stuff on this site. There's some trouble with the bolt (it's kind of hard to rechamber and all that) but it really doesn't effect the weapon very much.
