Absolutely amazing gun but HOLY COW does it have a HEAVY trigger. I purchased a new spring kit from APEX Tactical Solutions for $30 (including special tool for return spring installation) which I will install this weekend. I would also suggest removing the lock as S&W says it has a 1 in 500 failure rate. This can cause BIG problems if the lock accidently engages when using heavy .357 ammo in a self-defense situation. Google how to do it. This gun is the PERFECT pocket carry gun, but it is NOT a small ladies gun or a gun for an inexperienced shooter. It shoots .38 special fairly easily. Most home defense rounds are in .38 Special +P. This may likely be too much for an inexperienced shooter. .357 rounds are PUNISHING out of this gun. I would not expect to shoot these except in a carry situation. Definitely not for fun at the range. Many people purchase this gun with the expectation to have a fun range gun just to return it later. I liken this to buying a Jeep Wrangler. MANY people complain about it because it doesn't get good gas mileage or doesn't have as much power that people want when they pass at highway speeds. People that buy it for its intended use (off-roading) are exceptionally pleased with it. Same for this gun. It is no light shooting ladies gun for long days of plinking at the range. It IS a hardcore thumping self-defense monster that is easily concealable in your front pocket.
