Re-report, have now shot about 200-300 .38's and .357 through this BEAUTIFUL GUN! I see it's back in stock right now, so if you're on the fence for some reason..... GET OFF!! Don't buy into the whole "you NEED a 4 inch gun at the minimum, any less and it's not very accurate".......... This friggin thing is SUB-2" groups @ 25 yards if your eyes and steadiness are up to it, and it still put's all SEVEN ROUNDS(!!!LOVE IT! Some people look at it like "thats not possible... THEY'RE CALLED SIX SHOOTER's FOR A REASON!!") on a 12" steel plate at 100 yds ALL DAY! You just need to PRACTICE, and the difference between a 3" and a 4" are NOT near as much as even I thought, it's really just like a 1911 4 1/4" Commander versus a 5" 1911, and much like those, it's balance IMHO is MUCH better than ANY other bbl length of 686, it rocks, cant say enough AWESOME THINGS ABOUT THIS AWESOME PISTOL!!! Boot grips it is pictured/comes with are EXCELLENT, no exposed backstrap which pleases my palms under the .357's recoil!!! Glad I did'nt get the 4" first....... thats after the 1911, it IS 2011 people!!!
