Have had this for over a year and only now have noticed after seeing almost every 686 owner Ive met and read of say there is a PROBLEM with the barrels being OVERTIGHTENED and causing offset frnt sights and some SCORING bullets due to offset cylinder/barrel alignment.... WELL GUESS WHAT, apparently it's been a problem at least since I purchased mine cause mine has same issue, luckily it only has ONE machine mark(!!) on top strap. Thought it'd get better in the performance center pistols, go check review's on the M627 357 2.5 Stainless Perf Center on this website, SAME THING. Called S&W today with no apology, just "we'll send out a label, and you can have two issues resolved, PICK THEM CAREFULLY!!", WHAT THE HECK, is this an $800 MSRP Smith And Wesson, or is this a WASR-10 Century. ABSOLUTELY NOT Bud's fault, but DANG!!! THIS SUCKS, others got theirs BACK from repair, with NO REPAIR, so hope it get's FIXED. Will report back.... So amazing in this era of CNC machining, and electronic measurement's THIS MANY DIFFERENT VARIETIES of S&W revolvers are leaving in this condition, wish I could say "Oh, that's what you get with a......" IT'S A SMITH!! Oi vey!
